Does your child like using Playdough? Using Playdough can be a great way to engage with your child and facilitate language and learning, especially during this winter season. Check out these 4 activities to try with your child using Playdough:

  1. Work on shapes: use playdough cutters to label or identify shapes. Try making shapes such as a circle, triangle, rectangle, square, diamond, or heart.

  2. Pretend to cook: Practice verbs such as cook, bake, cut, roll, or squish. You can also practice using -ing words such as cooking, baking, or making,

  3. Work on colors: Help your child label or model the different colors of playdough. Say phrases such as “I see pink” and point to the pink playdough.

  4. Practice combining words: model combining two or more words such as “cook more” or “help often”
