Lying on Ball

Purpose:

To work on balance and build strength in the back, arms, and core. 

Directions:

Have the child get into a prone (face-down) position on a therapy ball with their torso over the center of the ball. Have the child walk their hands forward while lifting their legs until their weight is supported by the stomach/hips. Hold this position, making sure they keep their back straight and core engaged.  

Recommendations:   

  • Support the child as needed for balance 

  • Use toys or puzzle pieces to reach for while on the ball
