Massage
Purpose:
Get the body ready for high-intensity physical activity by increasing blood flow. It acts as a “warm-up” for the muscles.
Directions:
For upper extremity, provide long strokes starting at fingers and working up to shoulders. Complete x10 for each arm.
For lower extremity, provide long strokes starting at toes and working up to hips. Complete x10 for each leg.
Recommendations:
Use light, stimulating stroking movements, and gentle kneading on skin.
Keep it light intensity, deep and intense pressure can cause fatigue.
