Massage

Purpose:

Get the body ready for high-intensity physical activity by increasing blood flow. It acts as a “warm-up” for the muscles.  

Directions: 

  • For upper extremity, provide long strokes starting at fingers and working up to shoulders. Complete x10 for each arm. 

  • For lower extremity, provide long strokes starting at toes and working up to hips. Complete x10 for each leg.  

Recommendations:  

  • Use light, stimulating stroking movements, and gentle kneading on skin.  

  • Keep it light intensity, deep and intense pressure can cause fatigue.
