Side-Lying to Sitting

Purpose:

To build essential core strength, improve balance, and promote independence in activities of daily living. 

Instructions: 

  1. Start in side-lying position 

  2. Swing the bottom half of legs off the bed 

  3. Push against surface with both arms 

  4. Bring the body upright in one smooth motion 

  5. Sit up straight on surface
