Side Plank Bent Knee
Purpose:
Builds lateral core strength, strengthens hip stabilizers, and improves shoulder stability.
Directions:
Hold plank position per therapists’ recommendation.
Recommendations:
Try not to let the hips fall toward the floor.
Remind child to take breaths while in holding position.
Use fun, verbal cues such as “Make your body like a straight bridge.”
Can provide support at the hips or trunk if needed.
Always complete both sides, unless instructed otherwise.
